A New Partnership to Help Young Entrepreneurs

March 8, 2010

HEC Montréal and Fuller Landau are joining forces to support young entrepreneurs. A partnership between the School and Fuller Landau will allow teams of MBA students to carry out supervised consulting mandates in small and medium-sized businesses. Thanks to financial assistance from Fuller Landau over a five-year period, five young companies will benefit from an in-depth analysis of their situations and an evaluation of the different suggested solutions. Fuller Landau’s contribution will have a twofold impact: not only will five teams of students be putting the knowledge and skills they have learned in the classroom into practice, but the selected start-ups will be receiving this valuable assistance free of charge.

This partnership will be in the form of the “Fuller Landau Competition,” to be promoted through the Fondation du maire de Montréal pour la jeunesse, a non-profit organization created to offer funding and services to help young Montrealers launch their own businesses.

The businesses will be chosen by a committee consisting of a Fuller Landau representative, the HEC Montréal co-ordinator of supervised projects, and a representative of the Mayor’s foundation.

MBA students have the opportunity to take part in supervised projects at private or public companies or non-profit organizations as part of their program. Since 1997, HEC Montréal students have carried out over 400 such projects, guided by a professor with experience in the appropriate field.
