FL Fuller Landau’s Managing Partner Michael D. Newton earns FCPA Designation

It is with great pleasure that we wish to announce that FL Fuller Landau’s Managing Partner, Mr. Michael D. Newton has been awarded the title of Fellow of the Order of Chartered Professional Accountants of Québec.
The title formally recognizes members whose exceptional dedication to the profession and achievements in their career and in the community have earned them distinction and brought honor to the profession. Michael, through his tireless commitment and involvement, has without question done just that.
Having majored in Accounting & Finance at McGill, the time came for Michael to jump into the work force in 1989. He joined FL Fuller Landau as a junior and worked his way up the Firm to become a Partner in 1998, and Managing Partner in 2005.
Not only is Michael a supporter of various community and non-profit organizations on a personal level, he is also a strong advocate of community involvement for the firm. Michael’s community initiatives come with a desire to do much more than write a cheque, but rather through the integration of community involvement into firm’s culture. In 2008, Michael co-guided FL Fuller Landau’s involvement with the Cedars Cancer Foundation as title sponsor of the annual Dragon Boat Race & Festival, an event that FL Fuller Landau has just celebrated 10 years as the title sponsor.
Having reached a stage of his professional career that most don’t, Michael insists that giving back to the community is not an option, but rather a necessity.
Michael is the motivator and inspirational force that drives all team members within the Firm and makes them want to succeed. He believes in the Firm, and his passion is contagious. He is a visionary who is creative, always open-minded to new ideas and not afraid of change. A strong communicator, he is an expert at making his team members aware of objectives and long-term goals, which motivates them to succeed. He knows which direction he wants to lead the Firm and what needs to be done to reach this destination.
Promoting the Firm, the region and the country is a large part of Mr. Newton’s active role as Chair of the $3B international association know as LEA Global. Founded in 2001, Michael has been an active member since its inception and member of the board, with he and the Firm being recognized as one of the Founding Firms. In 2014, Michael was responsible for FL Fuller Landau and Montreal being the host site for the LEA Global Conference – the first time this conference was held in Canada in the history of the association.
Michael is highly respected by his peers for his knowledge, integrity and passion – qualities that make him an exceptional role model for the next generation. His commitment to people and the profession is a beacon of light to us all and during a period where morals and standards are constantly coming under scrutiny, FL Fuller Landau is honored and privileged to have Mr. Newton as the leader of their team.
